Neurosis is a Californian metal band. Although they were originally a hardcore punk band, their shift into pure sludge metal with the release of "Souls at Zero" would bring the band underground success. Their six albums from "Souls at Zero" to "The Eye of Every Storm" are considered classics in the sludge metal scene. Their album "Through Silver in Blood" is ranked as one of the greatest metal albums in history. In 2003 they released a collaboration album with Jarboe, the female vocalist of Swans.
