May - WOW!!!!!!!!!
What a way to end the first night of Red Rooster on the main stage.
Opened with a fabulous rendition of MC5's Kick Out The Jams and just kept the intensity going from there.
Great performer and musician, also got the one thing that a lot of great musicians don't have. stage presence. Her band were top notch and she clearly had a whale of a time. superb night [First added to this chart: 11/11/2024]

October - Brilliant gig at The Union Chapel from the Drive By Truckers frontman. Just Patterson on acoustic guitar accompanied by a great pianist (shame I didn't catch his name). The perfect setting for an intimate acoustic gig.
He played tracks from both his solo albums, the new album is fantastic, and also tracks by the DBT's. About a 50 / 50 split.
A very engaging artist, with great stories interjecting between brilliantly performed songs. A thoroughly enjoyable night. Two sets as well so over two hours of Patterson [First added to this chart: 11/09/2025]

July - Phenomenal.

June - Saw them at The Assembly Hall in Islington (London) last night and they were phenomenal.
I was really in the mood for a bop last night and from the start of the set they delivered in spades. I can't see anyone standing still when these guys are on form and boy, were they on form last night. [First added to this chart: 03/10/2025]

May - What a fabulous gig at a new venue to me, The Hampton Hub in South West London.
Excellent venue, probably holds a couple 100 at a push. Has a bar that actually served proper beer in glasses.
From the moment they came on the stage, and the the duration of the two hour gig, the band were on fire. I've see Errol play many times but this was undoubtedly the best I have ever seen him. The harmonica playing was top draw, his now got a great young guitarist with his who is out of this world and the rest of the band are top notch musicians.
Also bumped into a load of people we hadn't seen in ages + people we had arranged to meet and that always adds to the enjoyment. Sharing great music is always a joy.

Another Thursday night act at Red Rooster. A Psychedelic blues / southern rock explosion of a band from the Netherlands.
Consisting of three brothers (I think), they blew the stage apart with their incendiary musicianship.
They play like there's too little time to fit everything in so the songs merge into a phenomenal musical assault of the senses, If you get the chance, you have to go and see these guys. They'll blow you away [First added to this chart: 06/15/2025]

July - The Gov't Mule lead playing With his band at the Assembly Hall in Islington. Incredibly warm night and we were up on the balcony (first time I'm been yup there at this venue), which made it even more oppressive. SO HOT!
Excellent gig with the band playing ABB and Gov't Mule tracks as well as Warren's own compositions and veering off into a bit of reggae and quite a lot of jazz, which I loved.
A little freer to experiment with his own band was a bonus. Great gig. [First added to this chart: 03/28/2025]

May - One of the great sets of the year at Red Rooster.
I'm assuming that these guys named the band after the RL Burnside album of the same name as their music certainly reflects the RL / Junior Kimbrough vibe that I love. Great musicians, great set. Absolutely loved these guys. Need to look out for other gigs that they are playing although, as they are from the US, that might be a little problematic but we'll see. May - Saw him live for the first time since the last 70's, this time at the legendary Shepherds Bush Empire here in London.
Played as a trio, one of my favourite combinations and the guitar playing was phenomenal. No James Dewar on vocals (obviously) but a great replacement, didn't catch his name unfortunately. Played all of the obvious tracks and played them superbly.
