A haunted hum of home-recorded heartbreak, Yours drifts like a dinghy in a downpour. There’s a casual, creeping charm — cosy, contemplative folk-pop that fidgets between faint melodies and fleeting misgivings. It’s pleasant enough, but often it feels like wandering through a fog of forgotten thoughts, where hooks hover just out of reach and the familiar becomes faintly frightening.
The album skulks with lo-fi humour and self-aware sorrow: gentle murmurs about coffee, tea, and tender tremors rub against ragged riffs, making you wonder if Pester’s laptop was quietly crying in the corner. Listening drifts you to a strange mental mooring: imagining judge’s wigs bobbing on a black sea while you float uncharged, unjudged, with nothing but chicken entrails for tea and ghostly echoes gnawing at your cerebellum. At its best, Yours hugs you with a hollow warmth; at its worst, it’s background balm for brooding over bad decisions on a rainy Tuesday.
