The New Abnormal
United States The Strokes
Available from United States
"The Strokes are among the handful of bands to blame for the new rise of indie rock in the early 2000s. Their debut album Is This It is one of the best rock albums of the naughties, and the band also released a couple of nearly as good follow-ups. After slowly disappearing from the rock music rada..."    Reply

Punisher

"This albums' slow climb to the very top is representative of how it affects the listener. I first heard it and was like "yeah that was fine". Then months passed and I gave it no attention. Then I went back to it, and realized how much more than 'fine' it actually is! If it doesn't capture you on ..."    Reply

How I'm Feeling Now
United Kingdom Charli XCX
Available from United States
"An often cheeky, often sincere, always revved up victory lap of her previous album (and magnum opus), How I'm Feeling Now is just a reminder that Charli XCX is our modern queen of pop."  Reply

What's Your Pleasure?
United Kingdom Jessie Ware
Available from United States
"This is a funking good album you feel meee? This has been the most groovy listen I’ve had in a long time. The hooks are catchy and the beats slap you back into the 70s. I was waiting for a track to hit me and stand out from the rest and the closing track did not disappoint. 8.8/10"  Reply

After Hours
Canada The Weeknd
Available from United States
"He dabbles so much into '80s nostalgia that he almost rick-rolled us. The songs that don't sound like Tears For Fears B-sides sound like Trilogy B-sides. Why do so much artists see the start of the '20s as an incentive to go back to their roots? or is it just that they feel obliged to release som..."    Reply

Shore
United States Fleet Foxes
Available from United States
"May genuinely be my favorite Fleet Foxes record. More accessible than the previous release Crack-Up, but in some ways more mature than their early work. The earlier albums had a lot of genius but occasionally I felt like you could see through the magic, that the group was trying a bit too hard to..."    Reply

The Slow Rush
Australia Tame Impala
Available from United States
"As a Tame Impala fan from day one this album is basic. I think it's catchy, sure. But as my standards as a day one fan have climbed the mountains of Kevin's continuous exploration as a writer, this album left a lot to be desired. Where his past albums were rock perfection, breaking the boundaries..."    Reply
