Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 89.9/100, a mean average of 89.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.3/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.8.

Boston's first tune on their first album will always be a keeper. This is one of those riffs that everyone knows and every kid tried the first time he picked up a guitar, but it's also a song tune as well.
What a perfect tune. Every time I listen enjoy it.
The guitar sound is amazing, and Brian Delp unforgettable
It gives me joy whenever I hear the opening drum fill. Thankfully, I didn't live in the 70s to have this song beaten over my head, so I can still enjoy it.
Definitely invokes more than just one feeling in me. Nostalgia and bliss are at least two of them, the guitar riff alone is more catchy and bouncy than what other artists put out in entire careers!

A perfect rock song in every way. If it's not one of the top 10 rocks songs of all time, it's one of the top 20 and no less!
One of the most well crafted studio pieces ever made. It was bad live...how can you possibly recreate this? But that guitar riff is most excellent.
