Such a nice song. The lyrics are cute and it's probably one of their best songs.

The reason this song gets a bad reputation is because it's probably the most heavy-handed derivative material Gibbard has ever written and I feel this way not because Gibbard's "heart on his sleeve" approach, because he's always done that, but rather that he returns to an elementary level of poetic prose to deviate to an audience of hapless youths who've written the same thing in their journal or diary. On top of that it completely disrupts the flow musically that the album has setup and that's incredibly frustrating. I say this as an absolute Death Cab fan and this is just my opinion, but I do hate this song for a lot of reasons of which stated above.
One of the best songs by the band. Hearing Ben open with it in concert is incredible

One of my favorite songs of all time. So simple, and so straightforward, yet so profound and intimate. Sure, this gets a bad rap because... well, I don't know why it gets a bad rap. It's the perfect love song. Ben Gibbard crafts a gorgeous song that comes around once in a lifetime. And even then, there's nothing quite like this album.
