Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.7/100, a mean average of 88.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.5/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.5.

This is one of my all time favorite songs because its one of those songs that can give you a spectrum of complex emotions all at once. Sadness, anger, pain, desperation aswell as hope and be uplifting.
If this generation has given us a "Stairway to Heaven" it would be this song, at least in my opinion.

You must be the world's biggest cunt to give this song negativity, especially with the story that's behind it.
Knowing the story behind this you cannot help but be moved by this song. The quiet build up, the repeating middle part and the crescendo into the solo are brilliant!
the guitar solo in this song is the greatest guitar solo of all time (IMO) better than comfortably numb and stairway to heaven
When I found out exactly what this song was about, I wasn't anything less than devastated. An absolute heart-wrencher
