Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 87.2/100, a mean average of 86.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 87.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 14.3.

100% agree with the last commenter, a shivers-inducing song, such a beautiful sentiment
The best vocal performance ever in my book - when Bono sings "I'm wide awake" it gives me goosebumps. Such a beautiful song. 100/100
One of their best songs of the earlier period of their career, and is probably most well known for the 12-minute rendition performed at Live Aid that really solidified U2's reputation as a quality live act
one of the first u2 songs i fell deeply in love with. i've played it to death, and i sometimes avoid it for its simplicity, but damn if it's not a beautiful tune. bono used to wax it. i've always love the lyrics, "if you should ask, and maybe if they tell you what i would say, true colors fly in blue and black. blue silken sky and burning flag."
Simply perfect. I feel like I've overlooked it for years.
Maybe the best 80s song by U2. Perfect!
