Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 4% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 82.1/100, a mean average of 81.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.4/100. The standard deviation for this track is 10.4.

Amazing track, Pete's vocals are fantastic, one of his best work. and the flute is a bit tidy too.

A sweet, soft song, sandwiched perfectly in between the bombastic fallout of Broadway Melody and the raving madness of In the Cage. The warm feeling it gives is perfect for Rael's blissful unawareness that he's been trapped in the cage. Really excellent for a transition song, but perhaps not long enough or satisfying enough to be much else than that.

This is where the album begins to increase from "very good" to "great". Beautiful imagery. Haunting guitar. Nice vocal effects. Very subtle musically. Even gabriel's flute doesn't carry as much weight as it has in the past. i love the rolling piano at the end -- it's too brief d@mnit!
