Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 82.4/100, a mean average of 83.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.2.

Has some good extras, include the singles Happy the Man and Twilight Alehouse, the latter of which is fantastic and should have been on a studio album. There are also some good rarities in here, including Let Us Now Make Love and Frustration (an early version of Anyway). The rest are just the studio album output from 1970-1974, which you can find elsewhere on this website.
Fantastic to hear these tracks, in particular the 'extras'. Twilight Alehouse is a masterpiece. Happy The Man was released as a single after Nursery Cryme but it's a crime it wasn't released on an album. The Jackson pieces later appeared on Nursery Cryme and The Lamb.
The bonus disc is pretty fascinating - it's mostly from 1970 and includes four tracks from a BBC documentary which were later recycled into other Genesis pieces.
Each one of these 5 albums is great. Except each one of them has their own page on this website where you can give them the rating they deserve. So how about doing that instead of rating this redundant box set?
