When Hell Comes Home (track)

"When Hell Comes Home" is, in my opinion, one of the best songs that Cooper and his comrades have ever written and performed. Great example of craftsmanship and artistic feel (very good riff!). In addition, Cooper makes the link with the first nightmare via “Steven”. I don't know if it is a coincidence, but I occasionally hear musical particles that evoke the music of "Dead Babies" (on the stunning record “Killer”). Possibly this was a conscious move during production. Very solid and hypnotizing bass line. The lyrics are also strong. It is not obvious to write about domestic violence that has its own inevitable logic and drama. The abused mother is too scared to change anything hence tries to say that everything is all right, but her son has formed his own opinion of the situation, and decides that his abusive father will pay for the continuing terror with which he holds the family in his brutal grip.
