Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 4% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 81.6/100, a mean average of 83.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.7.

As someone who was introduced to music through Metallica, this band holds an extremely special place in my heart. Among their songs, Inamorata is the one that resonates with me the most emotionally since One. Believe it or not, the buildup from the drum and bass break to the guitar harmonies in the midpoint of this song has brought me to tears more times than anything else has. It's an indescribable mix of happiness for a band that has brought so much joy to my life and an intangible sadness that is usually kept bottled up deep inside. I have only experienced a similar emotional response to one other song, The Beatles' In My Life, whose opening notes evoke in me a sense of melancholy and a longing for a past that I can only recall with rose-tinted glasses.
Although the instrumentation and lyrics in Inamorata are relatively simple compared to Metallica's earlier, more elaborate works, the song still captures the heroic drama that they, in their glory years, exceled at. It's their longest original piece of music, and is comparable in both length and feel to songs like Orion, The Outlaw Torn and Fixxxer. If this were to be their last song, it would be a fitting choice, as it feels like a swan song of sorts.
