Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 11% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 78.8/100, a mean average of 78.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 16.4.

Probably overlooked on this album but a decent song. It just doesn't stand out like most of the others here, but I like it all the same.

Cul-De-Sac definitely has more of a prog feel than other songs on the album, alongside some deep lyrics about a military troupe marching to its doom, but for some reason, it doesn't feel nearly as cohesive as other moments. The chorus is pretty grandiose in feel, though I don't think it's musically quite as cathartic as other such moments on the album. The verses are a bit more subdued but good, though I'm not sure they're the best match for the choruses. I'm confident that the bridge is quite a bit out of left field, but Rutherford's guitar gets the song where it's supposed to go eventually. It may be a little loose in places, but there are some really nice moments where Banks shines on the keys and Rutherford does the same with the guitar, and the light piano to end the track is just perfect. Overall, a good song. Probably ranks as a high "80."
