Surprising choice of song for the opening track but wow does it work. The lyrics are concise but tell a complete story of a young guy being given the run around by his unfaithful girlfriend. John's vocals superb as usual - ably supported by really nice acoustic guitar. 2 minutes of pure pleasure. (Edited)
A lost gem. The first side of this album is really great. Second side mediocre.
Very passionate and somehow mature sounding opener, easily the key track off of a mostly otherwise disastrous LP.
An absolutely blistering track. It really starts the album with a bang. One of the greatest opening tracks on any Beatles album. Fantastic song. (Edited)

"I nearly died" nearly sounds too melodramatic, but as a whole this track is one of the best openers you could imagine. (Edited)
