Interesting little guitar just before 3 mins - almost like something recorded in a garage by someone just learning to play but it works superb. Agree that the instrumental part is just superb

It's the kind of song to get stuck in your head for years at a time. This is a pop psych masterpiece on every level. First off, the song structure is in reverse order that you get your song-title hook really quickly so instant payoff, then it goes into this bridge of sorts and you get the following majestically sung fantastic melody from Kevin:
Soon I'll be alone
Take all you can
But please understand
It never really was love
Then a section that is just other-worldly. The guitars, bass, and the organ start up in this extended instrumental section where layers come and go and the mixing is done to perfection. I repeat: perfection. This is just legendary. This is an extremely skilled artist and multi-instrumentalist at the peak of his game.
It's easy to overlook this guy because at this point in the album you have already been blasted by song after song of unbelievable music but this one is among the pantheon of Kevin's work.

I love this song so much. It is so different yet unbelievably compelling and the guitar solo is epic.
