Instrumentally it's fairly unremarkable but the vocals and lyrics on this are stunning. A wonderful anthemic song

Masterpiece!
This is the first song I ever loved in my life.
You know, I really dislike U2. Their music sounds dull and samey most of the time, but this song is their one truly fantastic track. Bono's vocals are utterly fantastic, and the constant ear filling, yet smooth, guitars slowly build throughout.
