Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 6% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 79.8/100, a mean average of 79.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.9/100. The standard deviation for this track is 15.1.

So ballsy to sandwich X.Y.U. between Stumbleine & We Only Come Out At Night, but this late in the album it kind of feels like all bets are off. Based off previous comments, it's a fairly pivotal song, and to me it pays off in every way. It's maniacally heavy, and to me, the lyrics here don't matter as much as the way the vocals are (impeccably) delivered. The whole track feels like it's coming apart at the seams, yet it manages to keep it together for seven minutes, which against the odds feels like an appropriate track length too. Super special gem.
One of many highpoints on this album it is by far the heaviest track on mellon collie and the visceral intensity is contained wonderfully by the band for an stunning tune
I’m a big fan of Mellon Collie, but this is the one song I don’t care for. It feels a little cartoonish to me. As far as epics from this era go, I’d much rather they put the magnificent ‘The Aeroplane Flies High’ on instead.
holy damn that screaming's powerful af
AND IN THE EYES OF THE JACKAL I SAY KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABOOM
It's hard to take this song seriously when it contains that line.
Didn't really a great song, somehow it can be found good
Nice!
Really loud, but it's still pretty good
you know your arse is in trouble again! love this song. always wish i could've seen this done live. This is a masochistic billy singing "i said, i wanna fill you up, i wanna break you, i wanna give you up " and "i couldn't feel her, and it was just a game, / cause i was lonely and she was crazy ". There are some silly lyrics, but they drown under the ferocity. There's a mild break before it ends staring into the eyes of a jackyl frantically singing "now we begin descent, to where we've never been / there is no going back, this wasn't meant to last / this is a hell on earth, we are meant to serve ". This is the last rocker on the album ending the rock fest superbly.
