I know that this is regarded as one of Paul McCartney’s greatest songs but I really don’t get that. He really did love a “love ballad” and this, for me, is just another example of a fairly decent tune performed well. I really don’t get, what I feel is, the disproportionate love for this song. Lennon felt that this was the best song on Revolver. Ah. I just don’t get it

Musically brilliant with a nearly mysterious amount of psychedelia, lyrically and vocally so vulnerable and beautiful. And those “Oooooooooo” backing vocals, my god.
Quietly one of the Beatles best songs.

Hands-down my favorite Beatles track. Paul really outdid himself here. Quite possibly one of the greatest love songs ever written.
My Dad's favourite track. Took him to see Paul in 2003 in Sheffield at the rescheduled gig .[Paul had cancelled due to a cold at the last minute.]. When he played this my dad cried all the way through. I'm sure Paul saw him. We were only about 10 rows from the front. Nice moment. Not spoke to him since 2005 [his decision not mine] but that was a nice moment. If I'd only knew what he was really like...oh well you learn.

I will never understand how similar songs like God Only Knows, Something, or Yesterday are considered some of the greatest songs ever written, and this song is seldom mentioned. Absolute perfection
Underrated song
Fell in love with this song years ago, and it still is one of my favorite Beatles tracks!
