II think II like this version more than the Beach Boys' version, since despite their beautiful sounding instrumental, the lyrical dissonance gets way more emphasized when the lyrics are sung.
Despite Blind Blake's version having lesser instrumentation in comparison, it feels a bit more melancholic which fits the lyrics better, and the fact it's calypso music, fits the lyrics' setting in Nassau better than the Beach Boys' chamber pop.
Overall, a very faithful rendition of a Bahamian folk song by Blind Blake and nice vocal harmonies too.
