Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Following "Cold Blows the Wind"; a song about mourning the death of a young man, I always felt this song was meant to represent the mundaneness and sad expectation of a dog awaiting his dead owners return. Not sure what the burping is about though...
