Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 88.6/100, a mean average of 88.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.2.

Overrated! I love DP but this song is not even on my top 10.
While it’s never been my favorite song (on this album or in general), it’d be tough to deny what a great song Smoke on the Water actually is.
I feel that the arrangement and structure is one that allows Purple to play to many of their strengths quite well and I’ve always loved the solo section.
Instantly recognizable by anyone.
Classic famous riff, and for a reason. IT'S AWESOME!!!
Clássico incontestável!
Classic song
good song, but thanks to what was probably a Time/Life commercial, i always hear foreigner's "hotblooded" when i think of this song.
The most simple, yet powerful guitar riff. Blackmore made himself a modern day Beethoven with this one. What guitar player can't play this riff? The bass and keyboard accompaniment are essential and underrated here.
