This is a bit of a “rocker” compared to some of the other tracks on the album and was composed by Stephen Stills. Of all of the songs that he composed with the Springfield, this is my favourite. Great guitar playing from Stills as well as excellent harmonies.
Stills does have a penchant for writing about lost loves, of which this is an excellent example as are tracks like Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, from the debut CS&N self tilted album. The end of the song I find a little strange but that’s a very small quibble. (Edited)
