Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track has a Bayesian average rating of 73.2/100, a mean average of 71.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.8/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.4.

The tracks which were previous to this song put a bad taste in my mouth, then this came on and I loved it. I loved the simplicity of the song, no fancy guitar work, stead drum beat, some harmonica thrown in. No instrumental was too daring, which often ended up be annoying on this album, it was refreshing to see a nice folk song that wasn't trying to be too progressive. All being said about the instrumental aspect of this song, there is also an incredibly strong lyrical aspect as well. Meloy looking at the Sandy Hook shooting (which took place on 12/17/12), trying to emphasize with the parents of the victims, he comes to the conclusion that his children, anyone's children, anything anyone loves, is something that can be lost. To love something is to risk the loss of it breaking your heart, and I think this song is deep, chilling, and important to listen to.
