Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

I can't believe that this song is so criminally underrated. The instrumentation is atmospheric and dreamy while Elliott's falsetto complements it fantastically.
The lyrics basically describe the inability to reveal your feelings to a beloved person you're often close to, but you'll have rarely anything to say to each other. Yet the protagonist feels there's a bond between them, and it drives him crazy in the evening hours as he can't take that they aren't closer. Therefore the "I wish I'd never seen your "fa-a-ace" at the end, because it's just too much for him to feel like this every single day.
I'm pretty sure that this is what the song is about as I happened to experience this, and it felt deeper and more rational than a normal crush. This song is an anthem for the fragile introverts who suppress their own feelings for rational decisions to avoid more damage.
