Master lyricist, songwriter and one of the most pleasing vocals in all of indie/rock or whatever you’d classify Smith as. He’s easily my favourite solo artist of all time, and every album he has could be considered one of the best of all time. Rest in peace, Elliott. XO
Nobody could craft songs like Elliott Smith. He was able to harness the intense power of subtlety in such a creative way.
The greatest songwriter in all of pop music. I will have to agree with the previous comments that he never made a bad song.

An amazing discography. I was really, really into him in high school, into every single album he put out as well as New Moon. The top three are definitely Either/Or, XO, and his self-titled. Hard for me to choose an order.
