I did just watch Memento again. Still loved it. Why did you feel it was a mess?

Agree that Prestige was great.

This had me cracking up Laughing I remember when he said that: Danish media didn't talk about anything else for about a week or so. Don't know why Von Trier should apply to me though, but fun nonetheless. Great list, excited for the continuation!

Oh maan I can't wait to see the rest.

And yeah, I guess Nolan did direct Memento, which was a mess. But then again, he made The Prestige, which is damn near perfect.

WHA?? you crazy. Memento is his masterpiece. The Prestige is a nice little film though and his second best.

Oh and you've got a pretty good one Wink

Mainly the whole Danish thing but...I guess you give off a Nazi sympathizer vibe as well.

But I should add that he's probably one of my favourite working directors.

Hells Yes! I directed Legend and probably Mr. Green got it on with Sigourney Weaver!

Admittedly don't quite understand the connection but the quote is so great I love it! even if everything after Black Hawk Down was a letdown

I have another similiary themed idea but I want to wait until after part II

In regards to Memento, I exaggerate. I thought it was really well structured/shot/acted and had some great moments. For most of the movie I was able to suspend my disbelief and ignore the questions of how he remembered such a huge amount of information from after the head injury. But I hated the ending, not only because I didn't find his motivation for setting himself up to kill cop guy believable, but also because the revelations didn't make any sense and didn't fit with the rest of the movie. It's a case of a story that was clearly reverse-engineered to hit certain plot points, and in doing so created a whole lot of unforgivable plot holes.

Article explaining it better than me:

I don't feel like writing right now (+ it's OT), so I'm just going to direct you to the wonderful IMDb FAQ page for this movie. I think what a lot of people claim as plot holes, are things that come from misunderstanding the condition, while some if it can also be explained by editing... Then again, there are also some moments, where it's convenient for the plot, I'm not going to deny that (like the Natalie scene in the bar)
