40footwolf=J. R. R. Tolkien
Wars are not favourable to delicate pleasures

Albummaster=Miguel de Cervantes
There's not the least thing can be said or done, but people will talk and find fault

An_outlaw=Marcel Proust
There is no idea that does not carry in itself a possible refutation, no word that does not imply its opposite.

Anothergreenworld2=Margaret Atwood
The Eskimo has fifty-two names for snow because it is important to them; there ought to be as many for love.

Borve Baunehoj=William Faulkner
I would say that music is the easiest means in which to express, but since words are my talent, I must try to express clumsily in words what the pure music would have done better.

Btener11= John Barth
Everyone is necessarily the hero of his own life story.

CalamityCat= C. S. Lewis
Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.

Dlggld=Joseph Heller
Everyone in my book accuses everyone else of being crazy. Frankly, I think the whole society is nuts — and the question is: What does a sane man do in an insane society?

Eggmen/Walrus/Taxman=Laurence Sterne
Writing, when properly managed, (as you may be sure I think mine is) is but a different name for conversation.

ffudnebbuh= Malcolm Lowry
And this is how I sometimes think of myself, as a great explorer who has discovered some extraordinary land from which he can never return to give his knowledge to the world: but the name of this land is hell.
