WHOA! This thread got really busy in the space of a half-day.

Cellar, I don't think BEA could be summed up any better

And HTTS, you should do Extras! Very Happy

And Squishy, top notch as always Wink guess I don't have to do that "BEA as cinema's leading ladies" thread afterall

@Cellar - I'm not sure what you're inferring...but whatever it is you're right.

@HTTS - Necharsian is a perfect Brent! and I like the casting of Neil Mr. Green suits me well.

@Squishy - Casting of purple as Nicholson, Norman as Fiennes, cartoken as Neeson, GARY as Hopper, Wolf as Bale and revolver as Hanks is too perfect. Bwavo Applause and I'm a big fan of Robin WIlliams so happy there too.

@ANothergreenworld - maybe if Squishy recasts Pam...both could be done?

Cool Well from what I hear she is James Dean so that seems like a good choice.

Also I'm pretty sure Loveless has said “I almost forgot what it's like to be proud of my government.” so yeah, eerily accurate.

The leading ladies of Pitchfork, with 'relevant' comments from HIPSTER RUNOFF

Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast - Jhereko

After hundreds of tweets related to 'smoking dank', interviews about Cali dank, and danking around with her dank dank weed marijuana, it seems like we finally get to see '@The_Real_Bethany.' Chillin in her natural state, 'lifted' as hell, getting lifted-er.

Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells - Polythene Pam

This band 'got tons of buzz' after the post-chillwave bubble in 2k10, and ppl were all like 'they are s0 loud and s0 hard but at the same time they have a pop appeal.' It generally seemed 'unlistenable' 2 me, but I guess it is always good 2 have a female indie 'frontwoman' 2 get females excited abt indie music + altbros 'all hornie' abt 'liking their music.' Think maybe they 'made a huge mistake' by aligning their brand with M.I.A. after her 'disastrous' 2k10 campaign.

Joanna Newsom - yourselfisntsteam

Is Joanna Newsom the Mother Theresa of indie music?
Is the harp wave movement going 2 become an international phenomenon, or will it only exist on the streets and in the hearts of crazy old ladies in Europe?

Victoria LeGrand of Beach House - CellarDoor

Beach House is a relevant buzzband who has 'tons of indie cred.' Lead singer Victoria LeGrand is known as 1 of the sexiest women in indie.

Annie Clark is Saint Vincent - Squishypuffdave

I was recently watching a youtube video of an indie bro watching a youtube video of a live performance by the popular indie female artist The St. Vincent. The video is compelling content, an open love letter to the female of his dreams. In the video, he pours out his emotional/spiritual/sexual/intellectual desires, letting St. Vincent know that 'they could have a perfect life together.'

Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs - thejoj96

Anyways, checking out Karen O, the lead singer of the Yeah! Yah! Ya!'s named Karen O. She seems like a keut half AZN girl, but her stage presence is kinda weirding me out. U know the feeling of 'getting 2 make love to a really hot person', but then when u get in bed with them, they turn into this sexual deviant, and keep trying to 'choke u out'/insist on 'having anal' with u.

Amber Coffman & Olga Bell of the Dirty Projectors - revolver94 & 19loveless91

Feel like I have to go back to HRO's ancient MIXED GENDER BANDS theory, where HRO says that bands appeal to a wider audience when they have boys+girls in them. Also, indie music critics enjoy 'liking bands with girls' since it makes them seem less chauvinistic/like they are an equal opportunity provider. I think it is good to have 'haute indie girls' in ur band, because bros will come to ur show and say 'damn...want my gf 2 look like her' and girls to think 'wish I could be as authentic as that girl on stage...feel like i'm trying 2 hard and don't have any indie talent besides dressing like a lil cunt.'

Tracyanna Campbell of Camera Obscura - anothergreenworld2

I think I read that they are a 'poor man's version' of Belle and Sebby.

Charlyn Marie Marshall is Cat Power - Norman Scornman

Do yall know who Cat Power is? I think she is an early indie female singer who had a few good songs, a potentially overrated album, and now she is sorta just in 'relevant purgatory' where people assume ur relevant, even though ur discography might not back it up. N e ways, sorta just wanted to 'feel out' how many people 'remember' Cat Power, and if she was ever relevant. Heard her gimmick was just 'having meltdowns' on stage. Not sure why the US Government would risk having her 'break down' in front of these African American children.

Bjork - itsit

Not sure if she is 'crazy' or if she is just Icelandic.

Nancy Whang of the Juan Maclean and LCD Soundsystem - Jackwc

Nancy Whang is the alt AZN synth player from the band LCD Soundsystem. Many ppl hope she 'goes solo' to step out of Jame Murphy's shadow.

Meg White of the White Stripes - eggman/walrus/taxman

Thanks to real news sources on the internet, we have enough evidence to say the Meg White sex tape is not real.
THE INTERNET RULES.
At least we got to see some mediocre people having sex.

Corin Tucker, Carie Brownstein, & Janet Weiss of Sleater-Kinney - HigherThanTheSun, DLGGLD, lethalnezzle

Have heard of them, but not sure what they sound like exactly.

Beth Gibbons of Portishead - hairymarx1

I like to guess what a band will sound like based on their name, and the name 'Portishead' gives me a bad feeling.

Robyn - harkan

I don't know what the deal with Robyn is. I think she is just the annual 'gay pride' female indie artist or something. Seems decent, but ultimately might not be attractive enough/show off enough of her body to 'go mainstream.' All I know is that I still consider her career a 'flop' after she failed to 'make it' as a mainstream artist back when Britney Spears and Xtina Aguilera were still entry-level slutwavers. Guess she is stuck appealing to 'the gays' and Euros.

M.I.A. - Borne Baunehoj

To some people, the words "Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman" are just a line of jibberish, but that is actually the child of controversial female indie rapper M.I.A. You might remember that M.I.A. was reportedly called a 'deadbeat mom' around the time of the Madonna Super Bowl scandal. Now it seems that M.I.A. may have crossed the line once again, tweeting out a link to a .GIF image of her own three year old son, Ikhyd, dancing around completely naked. Perhaps this is intended to be tasteful art in the form of a GIF.

Geargia Hubley of Yo La Tengo - Bork

They are probably 'good' but seem 'old'

Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife and Fever Ray - cartoken

Check out MC Steinberg's interview with the Knife. A lot of people are creaming their pants over the terrible Sigur Ros interview, but MC Steinberg has interviews that are truly worth blogging about. In this Knife interview, he confronts them about how their gimmicky masks detract from their music, and asks them to differentiate their marketing strategies from those of the Insane Clown Posse. All of this happens in a shower.

Régine Chassagne of Arcade Fire - Hayden

I wanted to see the Arcade Fire win [the grammy]. Not just for a spike in blog hits by lamestreamers googling "Who is Arcade Fire?" or "Arcade Fire Drummer Girl" or "Arcade Fire Sucks"… I wanted to 'feel' again. Like when you go back home for Christmas break and get an emotional handjob from your ex, and for a few moments, you want to cry because you are sort of disappointed in who u r now and how things didn't really work out like you would have wanted them to and these emotions that you forgot existed creep back into your psyche.

Nicki Minaj - Necharsian

Nikki BB! Say it ain't so! UR nip came out from behind ur bra! I swear I can see that thing, and it looks AS HARD AS A ROCK!
Honestly, I can't remember the last time my nipples became hard because of the soft touch of a man. Well, actually, the office I work at is REALLY cold, and sometimes my cheechees will harden up, but I am usually wearing a VERY supportive WalMart bra that ensures that my nips will stay home. My exBF told me that I should start wearing Vicki's Secret, but then I bought some and it didn't even fit and it didn't even cover anything! Why would I pay 4 that?

Brandon Raber - Mr. Chatterbox

I didn't see this, baha.

And I can assure you that this fits perfectly.

Wait, if Eggman is Miss Chatterbox does that mean I'm married to him? Anxious

Alright, I can live with that. Baha. Kidding! Razz
