You'll understand the process, that a lot of it's, like loveless said, instinct more than "what character fits this user in the most perfect way imaginable", and then you'll also know what it's like to get endless responses of "what does my character do?"?
Anyway, here's the best bit of advice for enjoying this thread:

I'll probably never be able to make one, I'm afraid Sorry if anybody got annoyed by my questions.
I do enjoy this thread anyway

That's more than OK, it just feels like we're being asked the same question over and over that we don't really need to answer. Just enjoy, don't over-anaylze, this thread is meant to be nothing but fun. But we're still glad you're here

For some bizzare reason, this got me thinking, what if we all got together and formed bands?
THE BEA BANDS
BEA's hypothetical bands (with terrible names) and concise summaries
Wear this Hat
Sorta Sounds Like: Sunn O>>>, Joanna Newsom, Best Coast
Jhereko- Fender Stratocaster
Necharsian- 12-string guitar
Polythene Pam- Keyboards, Cornett
Jackwc- Glockenspiel
40footwolf- Pyrophone
Perhaps by some happy accident, a group of international mischief makers came together and became the music scene’s biggest superstars. Mixing epic metal soundscapes with freak-folk-like tendencies, they’re largely stream-of-consciousness songs may on the surface appear to be just about hat-weaving, Japanese cowboys and totally plastered flying cats and dogs, but insightful music fans know that they’re just metaphors for the much bigger questions about love, loss and the pursuit of happiness.
Taking the Piss
Sorta Sounds Like: The Wu-Tang Clan, Common, The Streets, The Stone Roses
LethalNezzle- turntables, MC
HigherthantheSun- Keyboards, MC
DLGGLD- drum machine, MC
Socially aware hip-hop with a sense of humor, the three MCS known as LN, HTTS and DLG tackle big political and sociological issues, but they never let pretensions get the best of them and know how to poke fun at their subjects as well as drop a sweet beat. Their on-stage banter is not to be missed.
Purple Meadows Glistening Congruently under the Amber Sun’s deathly glow
Sorta Sounds Like: Julianna Barwick, Brian Eno, Manic Street Preachers
An_outlaw- laptop, keyboards
Error finn- Kantale
Ambient music with a punk edge? They make it seem natural, not impossible. While there are plenty of ethereal tunes about forests, lily’s and oceans that give their albums a serene, aural quality, but beneath all the pretty nature imagery are songs that hint at chemical warfare and problems in the union jack.
The King’s Throne
Sorta Sounds Like: Captain Beefheart, Royal Trux, a band whose name you can't pronounce
Hairymarx 1- an instrument you’ve never heard of
Eggman- ditto
After Hours- ditto
Every new album is completely different, because they absolutely must stay several steps ahead of all today’s trendy styles, while referencing every obscure album or song the casual music listener has never heard of. They can also literally measure a song’s “artistic and emotional depth” with a ruler
Silencio after D minor
Sounds Like: Arcade Fire, Slowdive, Charlie Parker
Cellar Door- Piano, Cello, French Horn
Yourselfisntsteam- Harp, Rythem Guitar
H. Ayden- Saxaphone, Trumpet, Flute
Ffundebahh- Mandolin, Keyboards
Bringing classical music to today’s indie scene, their highly symphonic sound reflects their classy attitudes and layered, refined songwriting, though their very promising works of art may be put to the test with the untimely discoveries of the one called H’s bizzare after-hours activities.
(remember this is all fiction!)
Cerebral Vortex
Sorta Sounds Like: Boards of Canada, Joy Division, St. Vincent, Can
SquishypuffDave- Laptop, Sitar
JoyofDivision- keyboards
Be prepared for a total mindfck. Making ominous, tense music full of minor-chord beats and trippy rhythm patterns that tap into your sub-conscious like only the best cinema can.
Lovely Sneer
Sorta Sounds like: NOBODY!!!!
Purple- Guitars, vocals
Mancsoulsister- Bass, Vocals
Mooseboy101- Drums
The spirit of punk will never die, at least not for these south London lads and lasses who make some of the most literate yet defiant punk-rock out there
Today’s Ingenues
Sorta Sounds like: Beach House, Tori Amos, Smashing Pumpkins
Revolver 94- Guitar
Applerill- Xylophone
They came into the music scene raw and hungry, but they kept upping the ante with each successive album and found a sound that was as visceral and exciting as it was earnest.
Hipster Trash
Sorta Sounds Like: nothing recorded
Gussteivi- Yodeling
Btener11- Bagpipes
Charicature- Recorder
The most unhip styles are all used here, which makes them the hippest band around.
The Deep End
Sorta Sounds like: My bloody Valentine, Neu!, Wilco
19loveless91
Itsit
Junodog4
Don’t judge a book by its cover, their nice, dreamy pop sound will absolutely knock you flat when you least expect it
The Messengers
Sorta Sounds Like: Pulp, Midnight Oil, Spoon
Xavygravy
Paladisiac
It’s serious music with a serious message. But it’s still very enjoyable.
99 Bottles on the dirty ground
Sorta Sounds like: Lynard Skynard, Whiskeytown, Steve Earle, Heuy Lewis and the News
Romanelli- Guitar, fiddle
Bork- Banjo, bass
Shane Spear- Drums
The spirit of classic rock for the modern age, they also mix in various roots-rock/alt-country influences to make very honest and intelligent music that doesn’t slap your face with its hipness
Four Golden Dragons
Sorta Sounds Like: Electric Light Orchesta, the Beatles, King Crimson
Mother Nature’s Son- Guitar
Calamity Cat- Guitar
Sean- Guitar
Brandon Raber- Drums
Don’t let their age fool you; they’re bringing back progressive rock to the new millennium with their massive triple-guitar sound.
Grun Tur zur Holle
Sorta Sounds Like: if we only knew
Taric
The Gollux
Absolutely bizarre. Nobody knows where this sound is coming from, but it’s so completely mesmerizing that nobody really cares if they don’t understand a single note that’s being played
Best Track
Sorta Sounds Like: every song that's already been highly praised
RFNaples
A super-efficient robot who, when someone simply says an album title out loud, will automatically start playing what is popularly regarded as the “best track” off that album. A good idea, but it’s unleashing at the 2012 republican national convention was a complete disaster.
Working Title
Sorta Sounds like: Nick Cave, The Strokes, Swans, The Cure
Harkan- Guitar, keyboards
Cartoken- Drums, Bass
They like their sound precise and ordered dammit! But their intense post-punk ambient drone is very hypnotic
Silver Speakers
Sorta Sounds Like: Primal Scream, Paul's Boutique, LCD Soundsystem
Captain_Dude
Le_Samurai
Mirek
Like LCD Soundsystem before them, their love of record-collecting turned them into one of the greatest sampledelic acts of today’s indie scene.
Psycho Killers
Sorta Sounds Like: Miles Davis, The Smiths, Suicide
Norman Bates- Piano
Mr. Shankly- Ukelele
While the name may imply violent music, it’s actually some of the sweetest, most intelligent and mature sophisticate pop out there. Although their cover of “Frankie Teardrop” is very unsettling.
The Fringe
Sorta Sounds Like: hmm, I don't know
Borve Baunhoj- Keyboards, Cowbell
Tekin- Guitar
The Poe- Harmonica
A group of enigmas. Nobody knows what motivates them, but when they actually make music it’s very insightful indeed
The Future of Rock
Sorta Sounds Like: the future of rock
Father_Time- everything
Iluvpornmusic- Vocals
Lickmapussy61- Vocals
IHatetheBeatles- Vocals
They entered the musical world proclaiming that their music would change the direction of rock n roll forever and would be worshipped many centuries later for its divine greatness that touched the hearts and minds of anybody who we’re lucky enough to hear it when it first came out. The album was released. It was pretty awful.
Thejoj96
Sorta Sounds like: Yeah yeah Yeahs, Metal Machine Music, Kyuss
A one-man party noise machine, though with some intriguing things to say
The Hairy Beast
Sorta Sounds Like: Iron Maiden, Radiohead, First Aid Kit
GARY
Kidamenisiac
Jbarajas
Tragedy struck these very well-known arena stompers, as their tendency to get on everybody’s bad side ultimately led to their self-destruction.
Sweet Nothings
Sorta Sounds Like: something saccharine
Anothergreenworld2- Laptop
Awww. That’s sweet. Next please

I'm a bit confused about the last sentence since I don't care much about emotional depth but whatever, this sounds like a great band

I was actually semi-quoting Borve's HairyMarx and Naples comparison on the "What if BEA users switched identities" page

Now I'm convinced it's the best band on the list. Though thejoj96, along with some others, comes close.
