Thoughts on Summer/Fall anime of the year?

best anime of summer for me by far was Haikyลซ!! since Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun started to decline near the end.

from what i've read fall season is supposed to be stacked. so i'll probably check out a ton of first episodes then ultimately only liking a handful. will definitely be watching Kiseijuu, Log Horizon and Mushishi. also Miyazaki directed anime should, at the very least, be intriguing. i'll probably end up posting my thoughts on whatever i watch when the time comes.

Probably Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun for me. Also really enjoyed Barakamon and actually ended up thinking Aldnoah.Zero was a fun watch (not amazing, but it was a good ride). Kind of stopped caring about Zankyou no Terror half way through, and shows like Rokujouma no Shinkoukei and Jinsei remained unoriginal but nice weekly watch sort of things. Sabagebu was surprisingly entertaining, Akame Ga Kill I kept watching for reasons completely unknown to me considering I don't like it, and I never got around to catching up with Space Dandy or picking up Hanayamata like I was thinking about doing.

Hanamonogatari was my favorite thing released in the season but I'm not counting that.

Really excited for the next half of new Mushishi.

Why don't we talk more? I love(d) Haikyu, first sports anime in years that's held my interest for this long. Love the characterization, development, OP, etc. Though technically Haikyu started in winter season, yeah?

Anyway, if we count winter outside of Haikyu these were some of my favs:

No Game No Life
Noragami
Tonari no Seki-kun

I have a lot of catching up to do though.

i dunno bae i'll try to post here more, also Haikyลซ!! started in spring and continued through summer so yeah that's my choice. i liked it for pretty much all the reasons you stated plus it was pretty damn funny at times. besides that i really enjoyed Aldnoah.Zero and especially the ending that a lot seemed to be against for killing off that colorless mc.

2nd op is best

Featured Anime:

Allison to Lillia
Genres: Drama, Adventure
Episodes: 26
Set in a continent divided into two commonwealths that have been engaged in war for hundreds of years, Allison and Will go on a mission to search "the treasure that will put an end to the war". Their hope is inherited to their daughter Lillia, who strives to thaw the torn nations into a united country. This anime encourages young generations to believe in a world without hatred or war regardless of nationalities and beliefs.

One of the greatest anime experiences of my life, right up in the โ€œgod tierโ€ of the likes of Lain, Last Exile, and so forth. It also sports a moving sort of drifting OP that is well-composed with strong emotions which resembles the series very well. Completely unlike Last Exile, another anime I featured that has airplanes. If you havenโ€™t seen this then you are certainly missing out on a modern classic. Directed by Nishita Masayoshi (of Eyeshield 21, Mokke) this one is really well done so get out there. It's pretty much Nishita's opus.

Took an animer hiatus back in June, finally crawled back.

Started watching Hanayamata. It's really relaxing, I could watch the OP for hours

I have been too uptight for the past 6 weeks. This feels therapeutic

Fall season has been happening, I've picked up a few shows but mainly new Mushishi and Amagi Brilliant Park are my weekly focuses right now. Amagi actually has me really enjoying Kyoani for the first time since Hyouka, so that's nice. Psycho-Pass season 2 is cool too, and there are some other nice, fun shows going on (Denki-Gai, Kokkuri-San, and the new Trigger show have all been enjoyable). Also watching the Fate/Stay Night adaptation even though I don't really care about the series that much, the animation is just too nice. Still have yet to watch the Miyazaki directed Ghibli TV anime thing, but I really ought to just because the idea of it is so unbelievable that it's actually happening.

Also finished watching Paniponi Dash! which I'd been going on/off of the past few weeks, and then binge watched Usagi Drop which was wonderful and I absolutely refuse to accept the ending of the manga because it just fucks everything up.

I've been watching that one too but I feel like I'll probably drop it at some point. I like the character designs but it feels a bit too much like a vapid, eroge VN adaptation, which to be fair it is and I guess I shouldn't expect much else. It's just all the praise I see for it everywhere makes me feel like there has to be substance somewhere.

I don't know anything about the series but I would assume so. I'm enjoying it enough though, plus it's pretty funny. Main guy reminds me of Tomoya from Clannad but a bit more stoic, which is good.
