Everybody knows that Spoon are great. Glad that's out of the way. They've been one of Indie Rock's most solid acts for over a decade, releasing many great albums. Yet they've always maintained a level of off-kilter quirkiness. It's never been enough to overshadow the songs themselves, but it's been ever present. On They Want My Soul, they shed their skin, and replace it with level of polish and tightness that is remarkable. Though the band itself its 12 years old, they sound rejuvenated and new. Songs like Inside and Out and New York Kiss display this new polish to the extreme, as the band jams around their new keyboard driven sound and take it to the extreme. It's like they're New New Order. That's not to say that the band's lost their drive and spunk, which they bring full force on songs like Knock Knock Knock, and opener Rent I Pay. They Want My Soul is the sound of a band coming into it's own and embracing a new style, which still retaining the basic characteristics that made them great in the first place. And what could be greater than 10 new solid Spoon songs?

Aight, here's the thing. This is the last write-up that I have. Write-ups for following AOTY nominees have been lost since Jher's leaving the forums:

To Be Kind (I think CellarDoor wrote it)
Too Bright (was it Saoirse?)
You're Dead (Rocky?)
Salad Days (Suede?)

If any of you guys still have the write-up saved anywhere, it would be great. I don't know what to do otherwise. Really sorry.

Other than the write-ups, these are the categories that still need to be posted. Hopefully by the end of this week I'll finally fucking finish this. Rocky's been a great help, cheers man.

Biggest Letdown
Best Solo Male Album
Best Pop Song
Best Debut
Most Underrated Album
Best Album Art
Best Video
Best Song
Album of the Year

And I'll try to compile all the results in one thread. Tbh I think creating new threads for each category wasn't the best idea, but there ya go...

I don't have the longer writeup that I did but you can use the one from my 2014 chart
