It's a real shame this site doesn't list Who's Bridge, Misha Mengelberg's 1994 lost masterpiece that every jazz lover should hear. This album is not as good as that one.

This one, though, is really good. Mengelberg is a completely fluent player, quick and spry, and here he's with Steve Lacy and George Lewis, both obviously virtuosos, and they're doing Herbie Nichols tunes, so this album can't miss, basically. It rolls along with those quirky Nichols melodies, a cheerful, summery album made by world-class players. Great jazz.
