I remember two really awesome songs that I used to play on my college radio station (Helicopter and I think, Banquet). So, is the whole album great?

Well you're gonna have to decide for yourself. The general consensus on this board seems to be that this is overrated piece of shit, though if you liked those two tracks you should probably hear the whole thing.

I don't know the scientific explanation, I guess my brain just works in the way that makes me like this album way more than some of the others of this kind. Just the right mixture of energetic and calmer moments.

It's not amazing but it's certainly not shit. Worth a listen."She's Hearing Voices" is a favourite. Actually there are quite a few good songs on here but I think as a whole pice it kinda falls flat. But then I prefer Intimacy which is generally considered their worst, so who knows.

Everything after the 4th track is b-side filler stuff. Neutral

I'm also not a fan of the Libertines or Stone Roses (similar bands. It's cool that you like them though, just my thoughts of course).

W/e genre this is "Brit-Indie" isn't my thing Confused

Fair enough, at least you're consistent Smile

This really hasn't aged well. Still, it's Bloc Party's best record.

To me, this album was like the Emperor's New Clothes. When it came out, there was so much buzz about how great it was, people went along with it and trumpeted its genius. It's like a crowd of people staring at a piece of modern art, when none of them enjoy it, but they all pretend to so that nobody thinks they're a pleb. There is nothing really wrong with this album, but it's not genius.
