Yes; sometimes I mistake them for Radiohead, but man come on! Worst band ever?? Who can ignore songs like Knights of Cydonia, Muscle Museum, Citizen Erased, New Born or Stockholm Syndrome? They're really innovative sometimes and you cannot say that lyrics are not great. And YEAH: go watch them live.

So glad to read some of the anti muse comments. Personally, I cant stand them but often have to put up with friends speak in awe of them. They have always come across as pretencious, over the top and tacky like Dr Who condensed into a music group. I hate Dr Who.

Muse = Doctor Who condensed into a music group... Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised

Really, I have never seen it that way but it seems so obvious now. Anxious

This is probably the greatest thing I've heard anybody say ever.

I'd start another thread based on the premise but I know there couldn't be much better ones than that Razz As I said, it is so obvious now.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez guys, this Muse hate is insane. Making me feel like a chump for not thinking they're the worst thing ever.

Like I said before, I'm not the biggest Muse fan, but I certainly like them. I was on the fence and saw them live, and it was easily one of the better shows I've seen. Don't quite understand why people think they are like poison or something.

I am feeling bad for liking them now. Maybe because I am surrounded by people that like Muse that I never get the hate.

Okay - they have been inlfuenced by Radiohead - other bands have as well
Okay - Matt Bellamy comes across as pretentious - other frontmen have as well
Okay - they embrace the ideas of space rock and sci-fi elements in their music - people get inspired by many things. Matt Bellamy said that the HAARP tour was inspired by dystopian worlds and works of alternative history.

If you hate them, hate them. If you love them, love them. Personally a favourite band of mine with personal connections to events in my life which is probably why I cling onto this band.

Personally I have no personal connection to Muse's music. And due to similarities in sound I initially discounted them and didn't pay attention to them until I took the wife (who liked them) to see them in Montreal. Then I actually listened to their music and realized this is one of the best bands around today. Their show was like a rock symphony, and the structure and performance of their songs is breathtaking. Definitely one of the best bands out there today for those who like good music.

This album was my first real exposure to them, and I still find it to be their best though I know I'm in the minority on that opinion.
