Great album, probably among the best of that year.

I think Aretha Franklin's version of "Respect" is more well-known than Otis Redding's version. Maybe it has something to do with that.

I do understand that, but what does that have to do with the selection of covers on this album? Wasn't the version of Respect on this album the original, not a cover?

While others may have had more pure vocal talent, nobody poured as much of himself into his craft as Otis Redding. He epitomizes singing SOUL music.

One of my all-time favourites. Pure beauty.
