The 90s is the decade I know best, and it's packed with great hip hop albums, so I'd tend to vote for that, but I must say these early 10s sound very strong indeed. I don't know the 00s so much, I sort of lost interest in rap in '04, but these last two years have rejuvenated it. So, I'm waiting for the 10s to end before I vote.
Long and interesting post by lethalnezzle, for sure. I'm not a hiphop fan, but I like reading historical overviews like that. I like a song here and there, but actually the guy I like the most is Eminem, he has a ridiculously aggressive style of rapping that pleases me, and most of what I've heard of rapping is smoother, more relaxed. I didn't vote, though, as I don't know enough about the genre, despite growing up with it as a part of the stuff I listened to.
