From Her to Eternity is certainly NOT Nick Cave's best. I don't understand this pick. The best of Nick Cave is between 1988 and 1994 IMO.

It's actually my favorite too. Though the the later albums might be better produced and more consistent, I haven't heard anything as demented and violently beautiful as the interpretations on Cabin Fever or Saint Huck.

But then I also like The Birthday Party.

Lol, this guy

Really though I don't know why this user is singled out as a Scaruffi clone; his charts have become more and more personalized and interesting over time, it seems. I've seen far worse cases Razz . Trout Mask Replica isn't even number 1. Sure, there are many albums in common but I like a lot of the rock Scaruffi appreciates as well and don't consider myself a clone or him a major influence on my tastes. Liking the records does not make one a blind follower.

Great chart, comments are nice to read.

From Her to Eternity is my favorite Nick Cave too, by the way. But I haven't heard much of his discography, so its position is rather tenuous.

Unlike most people who have similar taste to Scaruffi, Hairymarx used to copy some of the Scaruffi reviews almost word for word. He got better though, as you point out, and there are some interesting choices on his chart for a "Scaruffi clone".

It's a pretty good chart, despite the fact that almost 2/3 of it was released prior to 1980. This is also the only chart on the site that I wish didn't have comments. I'd probably agree with hairymarx about a lot of things...but reading him makes me want to punch myself in the neck.

he is singled out because it is true and he doesn't shy away from it and not to be mean but your argument that tmr is at number 2 on his list instead of number 1 is the type of shit that makes it impossible to have a discussion with most people.

not that it matters but he probaby had tmr at 1 for 2-3 years before he changed it

scaruffi's site is a great site and scaruffi does have good taste (not perfect like mine), but a lot better than other critics.
