Love - Forever Changes
I listened to it once many years ago, because it was from 1967 which year I loved and I thought it will be another acid-psychedelic rock album (like another Jefferson Airplane album which was my favourite band then). I was wrong and I though it is such a boring album.
Years later I gave it another try and I immediately liked the album. Now it is in my Top 10 favourites of all time. I don' know how I couldn't hear the incredible beauty of the album for the first time. Maybe I wasn't mature enough to realise it.
Another was Whatever People Say I'm That's What I'm Not. It was incredibly noisy and energetic and fast, I thought I will never listen to the whole album, my ears were bleeding. Then something has changed, I started to listen to one, then two then three songs on it then the whole album. And I realisted it is an excellent album.

Strawberry Jam by Animal Collective
Initially I thought it was just noise, after paying attention to the lyrics and listening to it some more I really enjoyed it

^definitely. funny how much tastes can evolve over even the shortest amount of time.
but my big one was Badlands by Dirty Beaches. Thought it was boring and a bit pretentious my first listen. Sat down with a friend and gave it a real spin. Needless to say, it's one of my favorites of all time now.

Oh, man, to at least 80% of my top 100 albums I've had a lukewarm reaction at first listen, at best. (...And Justice For All by Metallica and Another Side of Bob Dylan are prime examples). Hell, I even hated hard rock and metal when I was a kid! Little did I know how much my tastes would change. And they keep changing, it's rather unnerving, but at least I seem to stay mostly within the rock spectrum.

I have to say Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth. Couldn't understand all the fuzz about it at the time. Cannot say it grew on me to become one of my favourites, but now I can appreciate it.
