While Eric Dolphy may be one of my favorite Jazz musicians, even though I haven't payed nearly enough attention to Dolphy's work as I hope to in the future... Vladimir Oidupaa is my favorite throat singer, and my favorite musician of Russia so far. I find both of Oidupaa's albums to have had a large impact on me, and holds a strongly unique place in my mind.

throat singing dude is cool, but Dolphy has made too much of my favourite jazz:

Oidupaa Vladimir Oiun is a good enough listen, but nowhere near the level of Out To Lunch!

This!
I enjoyed Divine Music From A Jail, but it's unfortunate to be paired up against a heavyweight such as Dolphy in the first round.

Oidupaa Vladimir Oiun was a good choice. I'm glad you nominated him. some of these matchups are just rally unfortunate. The Tom Waits vs Leonard Cohen first round matchup is particularly a shame to me, althoguh at least they're far more famous.

My hope is that at least some people gave Oidupaa a listen.

I did. hopefully everyone who votes actually does give things a chance. obviously it's impossible to listen to entire discographies in a couple days, but it's really unfortunate if artists aren't given any chance at all
