Easily Bill Callahan for me. Ritter just doesn't do anything for me whatsoever, whereas Callahan's music is consistently interesting and often really great.
I don't have the time now to find and post the YouTube videos, but if any of you want to check out Josh Ritter I would recommend hearing the songs "The Curse", "Temptation of Adam" and "Thin Blue Flame". Those first 2 especially are really remarkable.
Much respect to Bill Callaham. I really like him. I much prefer Ritter. Ritter is just a really technically gifted lyricist and songwriter. He is up there with John prine and TVZ especially in the area of storytelling and narratives. _________________ -Ryan
