I'm almost done with it too. And.... I don't like it. Not really. I don't understand what I am missing. I can see the quality of the melodies. I recognize that her lyrics are good (perhaps great from the 40% or so that I really follow). But the voice and the orchestral instrumentation are just not jiving. At all.
Out of respect to her, to myself and to all her adoring fans that happen to be also my friends on BEA I will stick it out.
I feel you. I felt the same way first time I heard it. It was ok but nothing mind-blowing. I need to give it another chance. _________________ Progressive Rock
"Neon Bible" by Arcade Fire. First time listening to this album. I'm not too big of a fan, but I see all their albums in the top 100, so they must be good. _________________ ...and for dessert!
When I downloaded this is was listed as doomjazz. I've since learned that it's basically just jazz infused with ambient atmosphere and textures. That sounds really nice. I still love the idea of doomjazz.
