I just can't stand how synthetic drum beats sound in electronic music.
It is something I didn't like at first either. Unlike other "modern" things I didn't like in music, I can't remember an album which instantly changed it all. I guess I just got used to it. I know what you feel, but don't worry, with a bit f time, you'll realise how wonderful it can be. I like me some earthy and loud drums in rock, but these cold, mechanical electronic beats work perfectly well where they are. It's not even as simple as that, many beats sample drums and I'm pretty sure Big Black used drum machines to great result.
Is This It by the Strokes. Honestly, I thought this album was overhyped the first few listens, but I like it a lot now. My favorite song from Is This It is either Someday or Hard to Explain.

It happened for me, too. By now, I find in some cases electronic beats work better, indeed.
For Brandon. Pretty enjoyable so far. I just can't stand how synthetic drum beats sound in electronic music.
Oh wow I'm shocked you find it pretty enjoyable at all! ๐ The only album I can think of where the cold synthetic drum thingies actually bothered me are in Beach House's music (who I enjoy regardless), which isn't even electronic music, lol. Grimes' music actually feels pretty warm and full, imo.
