No disrespect to Cross Paths, it's a great record, however, The Foundation is a staple for me.
Zac Brown Band, no questions asked.

I liked the Motifs, they have lovely voices. I won't be disappointed if they win, which, they probably will.
Country music does not get a lot of love on BEA, so I'm going to speak up for Zac Brown Band. It has everything good country needs, harmonies, guitars, fiddles, a bit of southern twang in the voice. Lyrically, it avoids the old cliches (I lost my woman and my dog, pour me some more whiskey) and creates new ones (fun, driving, southern food, the aforementioned cold beer motif). I say "new cliches" because I don't think they were quite cliche yet when the record came out, although they have since become so in the country music milieu.
Vote to ZBB.

Nothing against The Foundation, but Cross Paths is a sumptuous collection of indie-pop ditties that only the hardest of hearts could fail to like.
I hope The Motifs go on to win the whole thing - I'm backing Brandon's nom all the way to the end... _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

Cross Paths is a lovely twee album. I don't think it does quite as much for me as it does for some other members, but I really struggle to listen to anything with that godawful southern accent. Sorry Zac Brown, I know there's more to your music than most country, but I just don't wanna hear it. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Precedent clearly has serious balls. Not only does he nominate a country artist, he nominates a Pop Country artist. And I want to thank him for that because it was a lot of fun drinking to it a few nights ago. Clearly it's not my thing, but as a wrote before... hell, no need to paraphrase myself, here's exactly what I wrote before...
While it's not my thing, it's incredibly consistent in quality throughout with impressive variety -from the heart-tugging Highway 20 Ride to the bar-storming, fiddle-flying romp It's Not Ok to the Key Largo calling-all-parrotheads Toes. I'd have a blast seeing this band live in the right setting. My two kids r going to LOVE Sic 'Em on a Chicken. I can see them hootenanny-ing it up already.
Cross Paths, on the other hand, is just lovely. The sort of album I want to tuck in at night along with my two kids. I just wish I didn't have to listen to it on YouTube. Hint, hint.
Cross Paths.
