I'm like 90% sure Satiemaniac said "Goo", "Automatic For The People" and "m b v" to divert attention from this:

Midnight Memories by One Direction
no joke, they were the best pop group of any kind on the planet until this.

I doubt that.

Satiemaniac knows what's up for the most part! One Direction has a few dope tracks, I'm a fan.

if there's been a more evocative and transcendent pop single than "One Thing" in the past twenty years, I certainly have not heard it

"Call Me Maybe" is close, but yeah, the One Direction single is up there.

"Live While We're Young" and "What Makes You Beautiful" are two of the greatest singles of all-time, regardless of genre.

It doesn't really evoke anything in me. It's certainly not a bad song (probably their best that I've heard) and I don't really hate "One Direction"'s music (though I almost never listen to it)... it's just not my bag at all.

Resentful personalities too. Maybe that's the media. Bumped into Harry Styles once in Manchester just as they came to fame; rude and dismissive.

Nah that's not you, I have some friends that met Harry and Nial at some party in New York and they said the same thing. Granted, personalities don't really bug me when I'm evaluating music.

Their music is cute and that's mainly what matters to me

Seriously? Because it's just simplistic pop that works?
