Yeah, Graeme's right! I need to share this with you guys. One of the few hip hop albums that has ever brought me close to tears because it's so emotional, intense, and just devastatingly brilliant. One of my faves growing up along with the gem that sp4cetiger nominated (AmeriKKKA's Most Wanted), By All Means Necessary, and It Takes a Nation of Millions. All potent political powerhouses. All Means Necessary is especially emotionally riveting. I have so much respect for how KRS One channeled his grief over original DJ Scott La Rock's murder into a rallying cry for peace and understanding. That happens a lot in hip hop circles. LOL.
I don't know how many nominations are allowed but all four of these albums deserve a spot. If you haven't listened to at least one of these, don't even claim you know hip hop. Sorry to be an asshole but damn.
Big K.R.I.T put southern rap back on the map with this masterpiece. He produced and rapped every song on here, and he went HARD. Stop sleeping on KRIT...STOP.
Binary Star were the kings of underground hip hop during a time where mainstream hip hop made a turn for the worse (2000), they even call out mainstream hip hop a lot on this album for being whack. This is the epitome of underrated, underground hip hop records. DETROIT.
Good Kid, Mad City is good and all but I think Section.80 is way better. The songs on here make me feel things. He hits harder on this and the songs are way more memorable. I don't really care or remember anything on GKMC but on this, Kush & Corinthians, F*ck Your Ethnicity, Ronald Reagan, Hol Up, Hiii Power, ADHD, Rigamortus, and so on. Every song is mad fire. "They say that we crack babies, cause we were born in the 80s!"

Only 2 are allowed, but you're right about all of those deserving to be in this. _________________ Doubles & Conch
