I'm not 100% sure of my enjoyment of Kannberg's style. What appealed to me most about Pavement was how every element of the music created by that band did well together. Unsolved showed me brilliantly done work all around however so vote to Farina, but both of these guys did their job well.
I love Pavement as much as anyone, but Farina is one of the top guitarists of 90s indie rock. Super warm guitar sound with really jazzy leads and chord progressions, applied to a sort of weird amalgamation of 90s post-rock, punk, jazz rock, and blues. It's good.
would probably rather see Coxon or Amigo win over either but I'll go with Farina here. I really enjoy his playing. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
I always thought Farina always had a cool technique and style. As much as I love Pavement and their guitar playing, I have to give this one to Farina. _________________
