I think I liked this growing up, but it's hard to tell when so much on the radio sounded like this in 2003.

Here's what this album is.

It's fairly catchy, radio-friendly what would probably be called "alternative rock". Jon Foreman has a good voice and is a pretty solid songwriter. Instrumentally, the album is fine, though nothing incredible, and there's a slight bit of variety, though most of the songs follow similar structures. In the end, the album is catchy and just nice to listen to. It's one of those albums that isn't going to floor you, but you probably won't hate it either. It has some great singles ("Dare You To Move", "Meant To Live", "More Than Fine", "This Is Your Life") and is, without a doubt, Switchfoot's best album.

I can confirm that this is a pretty accurate analysis of the album, I agree. Some nice tracks, but nothing special overall..

You've pretty much described Switchfoot in general. Good post.

I have never heard of this band or this album. Probably for the best.

Turns out I actually have this album but remember next to nothing about it (Pretty much the exact scenario as with that Wolfmother album a few weeks back...).

I'll give it a relisten...
