 One of my all time faves! I remember picking it up at Tufts U music library (which was a music lover's version paradise) and just having all my prior conceptions of the Byrds shattered. This is the album that turned me into a Byrds (and then Parsons) junkie for couple years back in the 90s.
Almost as good as California. Simply exultant. Any thing can RISE!!!
You know the whole The Byrds(alongside Beatles) invented Jangle Pop.I listened to Younger Than Yesterday and don't really hear it.Which album of theirs would you say features characteristics of that genre aesthetic prominently?

Interesting. Younger Than Yesterday is a perfect example actually. Just focus on the guitar and not on the songs so much, and I'll bet you'll hear it.

I'd say the first two Byrds albums are the most jangly, but I'm one of those people who thinks Younger Than Yesterday is their weakest album of that era. (I prefer the Gene Clark years and Gram Parson years over the period in between.) _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Hmmm.... While the guitar is definitely jangly on those first two albums, I always considered Younger than Yesterday to be more genetically similar to Jangle Pop since it has more of that Brit Pop sound. But, yeah. Any of those first four albums are great examples as they all really showcase McGuinn's Rickenbacker guitar.
BTW, Younger Than Yesterday RULES!!! "Everybody's Been Burned" is one of my favorite songs of all time. ๐
But, I love all their stuff form from that time period.

Absolutely. That song is one of their best. It's just find the album less consistently brilliant than others. Of course it's tough to compare any of their other songwriters to Clark or Parsons, who were both virtually flawless. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
