I remember being so confused when this came out. Badmotorfinger and Ten were both blowing up and suddenly "Hunger Strike" is being shown on MTV constantly. I was really into Pearl Jam, but not so much Soundgarden. Then here were the singers from each band doing this awesome collaboration. At the time, I remember wondering, "Did these guys form a super group already?" Of course, I later learned that Temple of the Dog was over a year old and was getting new attention in light of the success of the members' respective bands. Learning that kind of bummed me out, because I love this record. But then it's cool that's it's a one-off and that it's so damn good. Definitely the best album from a retroactive super group.

The exact opposite for me. Louder than Love rocked my world when it came out, and then I absolutely worshiped Badmotorfinger. Jesus Christ Pose is still my motherfucking jam.

Temple of the Dog is decent. It does not stink. I certainly did not wear out my copy if you catch my drift.

Pretty good grunge album, I wouldn't call it essential, but it's better than the albums from STP and Bush

Spectacular vocal performances by Cornell & Vedder save mostly forgettable, bland music. It's really nice, comfort rock though. Really good Cornell solo album in a way.
