just started on this. fascinating composed music meant to resemble jazz improvisation mixed with a few prog-rock elements (RYM calls this "avant-prog"). really enjoying this so far. this kind of disjointed, visceral cerebral music is just what the doctor ordered. probably gonna listen to their other album after this.
The first one (see above post) was incredibly layered, rich, off-kilter, and completely singular in its vision and execution. According to Allmusic, this one is better enough to be one of their staff picks or whatever, which has me curious. I'll need to spend a lot more time with the first one to pick an adequate enough amount apart to really have a more articulate opinion than " 🤤 " but i'm looking forward to peeling the layers of that one apart. For now, checking out the second (and last) of Rich Woodson's Ellipsis's records. It opened with that killer distorted guitar sound and has hit the ground running splendidly.
